ABOUT ME

İLAYDA OZDEMİR ÇİÇEK
 Clinical Psychologist and Family Counselor

In 2019, she graduated from Izmir University of Economics, Department of “Psychology”. In August 2021; I completed my thesis titled “Mediation Roles of Conscious Awareness, Psychological Flexibility, Experiential Avoidance and Cognitive Flexibility in the Relationship Between Childhood Traumas and Somatization” in Izmir University of Economics, “Clinical Psychology” master's program. At the same time, in January, I graduated from Dokuz Eylül University, “Family Education and Counseling” master's program with my project titled “Examination of the Relationship Between Eating Disorders and Family Functions”. At the end of her master's graduation, she earned the titles of

“Clinical Psychologist and Family Counselor”.

Her internship experiences in many different institutions during her undergraduate education:

In 2017, she participated in the “Neuropsychological Tests” application with adults in Dokuz Eylül University Hospital neuropsychology laboratory.

In 2018, as part of the “Erasmus Internship”, she completed the following duties in the field of “Financial Literacy” research with children aged 8-12 at the Cottonera Resource Centre, University of Malta; teaching in “Financial Literacy” courses, conducting behavioral observations and contributing to the development of scientific articles during the research process.

In 2019, she worked as an intern psychologist at a language school with children aged 6-12, conducting developmental observations, organizing games and activities appropriate to the needs.
In 2019, she completed her undergraduate graduation project titled “Analysis of Alexithymia, Emotional Expression, Childhood Trauma and Attachment in Self-Reported Eating Disorder” as a poster presentation at Izmir University of Economics under the supervision of Dr. Şermin Tükel.

As of 2019, she started working at the Association of Couple and Family Therapy. In December 2020, she attended the “Secrets of a Happy Marriage” training organized by the Family and Alternative Family Committee and completed her trainer training. As of 2021, she started to co-chair the Family and Alternative Family Committee and continued her presence in the association as a member of the board of directors as of 2023.

During her voluntary internship at the Yaşamca Psychology Center between 2019 and 2021; she took part in developmental play studies at home, preliminary interviews with clients, and project and group program development studies. She attended the “MRI Family Therapy Workshop” organized by Virginia Blue, the 16-hour “Family Play Therapy Workshop” of Dr. Sholomo Ariel, the pioneer of the “Integrative Play Therapy Model”, and the “Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)” workshop of Dr. Yasemin Meral Öğütçü.

In 2020, she participated in Zümra Atalay’s “Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program” and

“Mindfulness in Individual Interview” training.

In 2021, her study titled “Investigating alexithymia, emotional expression, childhood trauma and attachment in self-reported disordered eating behavior”

was published in the Journal of Clinical Psychology with Dr. Şermin Tükel.

She conducted sessions with supervision in the “Cognitive Behavioral Therapy” school at İzmir University of Economics, Psychology Application and Research Center for about 1 year and continues to improve herself by participating in trainings in this field.

In 2021, she completed the ISST-approved “Schema Therapy” training from Prof. Dr. Gonca Soygüt Pekak.

She continues the “Schema Therapy” supervision process with Assoc. Prof. Dr. İ. Volkan Gülüm at the accreditation stage.

Between January and September 2022, she conducted therapy and counseling processes with children, adolescents and their families between the ages of 10-18 at the Turkish Foundation for Children in Need of Protection, Koruncukköy Urla. She continued this work with the supervision support of experts from different fields in determining the needs of children and adolescents and directing them to their needs.

In 2022, she completed the EMDR Level 1 basic training process from the Behavioral Sciences Institute with supervision and started to serve her clients on the Hiwell Online Therapy Platform as of 2022.

 

In 2023, she established the İzmir Çeşme Transformation Psychology Center and took her place among the psychological counseling centers in İzmir. In the light of Schema Therapy, EMDR Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy; she conducts therapy with children and adolescents, simultaneous family counseling and individual therapy processes with adults. While conducting her clinical studies, she continues to practice her profession with the vision of always improving herself with education and supervision support and being a therapist who works in line with ethical values.

ELİF NURCAN

Clinical Psychologist Elif Nurcan was born in Mainz, Germany in 1992. Elif Nurcan, who
speaks Turkish, English and German, accepts clients in all languages. Nurcan, who moved to
Turkey in 1999, completed her primary, secondary and high school education at Deutsche Schule
Istanbul in Istanbul. After receiving her Abitur diploma in 2011, Elif Nurcan moved to Vienna,
Austria, where she studied Media and Communication and then continued her education in the
Psychology Department at Istanbul Bahçeşehir University. Nurcan, who also worked as an
assistant during this time, contributed to the article “How prosocial behavior turns bad into good:
An examination among Turkish-Bulgarian adolescents” published in the Current Psychology
journal. In addition to following current developments in the field of psychology, she has
participated in various trainings such as Mindfulness and Play Therapy. After graduating from
Bahçeşehir University with honors, she earned a master's degree in clinical psychology at
Goldsmiths University of London in England. In addition to working on her thesis on test
anxiety, Nurcan also had the opportunity to do an internship at the NHS (National Health Service
of England), where she also went through the supervision process. Graduating with a degree of
success, Elif Nurcan received the title of Clinical Psychologist in 2019 and then returned to
Turkey. After completing the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Training for Children and
Adolescents in 2021, Nurcan started her Teacher training at Marmara University. She then
worked as a guidance teacher and school psychologist at the school she graduated from,
Deutsche Schule Istanbul, for three years. During this time, she worked closely with both
students and their parents and provided trainings and workshops on various subjects. In 2024,
she moved to Izmir and started the therapy process with children, adolescents and adults in
English, German and Turkish at Çeşme Dönüşüm Psychology.
